Sugar Hills Country Club

Born in 1921, a dream of Leo Schisler, Sugar Hills Golf Club, Inc., has morphed from a 9-hole course with sand greens, buffalo grass fairways and tees made of wet sand to what is now the finest 18-hole golf course between Hays, Kan., and Denver with lush bluegrass fairways and beautiful bent grass greens. We call Sugar Hills Golf Club “The Gem of the Prairie.”

High Plains Museum

We are the people of Western Kansas, descendants of the Native American, the soldier, homesteader, the farmer, the railroader, the teacher, and the entrepreneur. Our stories, beginning over 100 years ago, continue and are presented and preserved through the efforts of the High Plains Museum.
The High Plains Museum is open Monday and Wednesday through Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Mountain Standard Time. There is no admission charge but donations are welcome. Tours are available upon request and guests are welcome to look at their own leisure, which is anywhere between 30 minutes and an hour (depending on how much you like to read).
